Designer Showcase: Rural View 

Here our key elements are highly textured - yet approachable for either an older home or for personalization of a townhome or condo. The space is on the petite side but each surface is special in it’s own right. 

For example the classic statuario tile is layered in a ¾ application giving not only two geometric patterns for the eye but also subtle color to pull the warm and cool tones together. The pattern of the lower tile is a popular motif of a star and a flower creates organic biomimicry by bringing the outside in.

The twist on a cottage style double hung window is that these are mulled together to create an open view in a traditional and cozy manner. Keeping the sash and mullions all white helps open up the wall space to feel larger.

One of our all time favorite countertop applications was this new thin material now available in the US from Europe. It’s super durable and easy to install. Here we featured a reverse knife edge for the first time ever in our projects. The stone pattern is spot on and works beautifully with our backsplash.

There are two decor categories here that we feel are hallmarks of studiobstyle design. One is the oversized hardware. We are big on looking at appliance pull size hardware for larger doors. The scale of the hardware updates and modernizes everything else in the kitchen.

The second decor component is the pottery. All of our selections, some vintage and some new, are unique pieces that tell an artisan story.
