The floors are in! That makes the transition from tile to French Oak to carpet a seamless series of the thresholds. The thicknesses and the floor prep were all considerations for the commercial flooring studiobstyle selected for Kerry.
By dividing the areas with three different materials we were able to create functional spaces within the office. There’s the entryway with a wall for signage, a lobby/seating area for meetings and offices, and the main conference room.
First is the tiled entryway. It’s like the yellow (cream) brick road to the Meath Financial planning success. This entryway serves as the welcome mat to the rest of the office. The Interceramic-tiled feature wall helps the entrance feel taller, more open, and grand. The signage for the business will be installed on this wall later.
Secondly, we ran French Oak flooring through the lobby seating area and offices. This flooring helps to deaden sound and brings a much-needed organic feel to the office. The Karndean Designflooring long grey planks run directionally to the main conference area on the other side of the glass wall.
Thirdly, we selected a very organic carpet which was installed in the same direction as the oak plank flooring. We chose the Shaw Contract Rethread pattern because it felt like a forest floor. Honestly, we just want to kick off our shoes and walk around in that conference area but we’ll save that for the photo shoot later this month!
Structural build out is nearing completion for Kerry’s office. Walls are in and the privacy glass panels have been installed. Some of the panels have a frosted portion to add extra privacy.
We’ve also painted walls with Sherwin Williams Incredible White and Quietude. These subtle colors will brighten and calm the space for Kerry’s financial planning meetings for years to come. The ceiling is painted with Sherwin's Eider White to create a coordinating hue that blends with the new drop ceiling.
We’ve started to install the tile from Interceramic USA and we’ve chosen the beautiful French Oak flooring from Karndean. This wide plank flooring is the perfect grey to help the space feel warmer and more “resimercial”—the perfect blend between residential and commercial. That’s actually one reason we chose Karndean Designflooring...the other is because it’s super durable. It’s easy to install as a loose-lay floor so after we received the samples, we were excited to get the order placed. The flooring has arrived and install will take place after the ceiling goes in.
We’re starting the build out for Kerry's office. Walls are going up and all the mudding should be done this week. It looks more like an office with doorways and separated rooms. And here's Kerry! She's checking out the progress and sharing images. More progress photos and updates are over on Instagram: @studiobstyle and @kerrymeath.
For flooring, we’re going with Karndean. Check out this new Karndean LooseLay French Oak Flooring—it’s beautiful, and it helps keep the office quiet because it's vinyl. Up next? Paint colors!
We’re kicking off our recent commercial interiors project—an office fit for Kerry, a mom who’s in need of a new office for her family financial services business. She’s working with studiobstyle to build out the new space. The space has been gutted and is ready for the initial work to begin.
