How to stay warm?
Luxuriate in spectacular design
by Barbara Schmidt
What’s better than a hot bath on a cold winter’s day? A good soak and glass of wine! Soaking tubs have been a big part of our lexicon. We’ve worked with some of the best plumbing brands in the world to brand not only their products but also to tell their brand stories including those luxurious products.
The entire tub was hand silver leafed by a local artisan @areaenvironments and the artwork was created by a dear friend Gino Hollander. The barn wood wall was built by photographer Tim Nehotte. The whole environment was inspired by a stay at Manka’s Boathouse on Tomales Bay in California.
When I designed this bathroom I was inspired by Japanese structure. I remember I was looking for a house and wanted a seamless transition between the outdoors and the interior. I imagined soaking in this tub and watching the weather pass by near the sea.
This design represents one of my favorite floors of all time – herringbone black marble. It’s just so timeless. This was the first set of a year-long project to create a new visual brand look and feel for Pella Windows and Doors. After all it always about creating mood.
