A Photo Stylist Tells All: Where Do We Shop?

Series 1 of 2
Here comes the inevitable comparison or should we say inclusive list? As consummate daily shoppers of home décor, we at Studiobstyle know a thing or two about fresh design and forward trend. Here’s what we recommend for a quick in-store purchase:

For Curtains and Curtain Rods?
JCPenney because they have an enormous selection in stock. Yes, you heard it here first – we’ve shopped this department for over a decade, and that’s because we always know that we’ll find what we need on the first try at a excellent price point.

Our second favorite is Restoration Hardware because of their superb linen and velvet drapes. We must have used the pale blue velvet drapes over half a dozen times in various projects. Their hardware is really a good value for if you can purchase a standard size. Our third choice is Anthropoligie if we are looking for that breezy boho style. Their patterns are retro and yet updated. Take a closer look because sometimes they have extra detailing on them that you don’t notice online.

For Bath Towels and Bedding?
Target scores high here for their Thomas O’Brien line and with their Dwell bedding line. We just shopped for bath towels and we liked the patterns they carry and some of the odd solid colors. Need an olive colored towel? Target will have that variety of green or blue that looks updated.

Our other favorite is Anthropologie. They have higher prices but who can beat their damask towels in goldenrod and azure blue? We love the unexpected patterns and colors that are updated and fresh.

Next in the series is where we shop for area rugs, accessory furniture and kitchen décor.
